The Group was founded in 1965 by Makni brothers, and since then it has been growing in the field of clothes industry under the famous brand name of “MAKNI”. 
Moreover the first manufacturing unit of clothes was launched at the beginning of 1965 with an output of about 1,000 shirts per day.
 
The year 1976 was marked by the opening of the first manufacturing unit of trousers and suits in Tunisia, the founding of a wholesale and retail network all over the country, and the beginning of exporting the ready-to-wear products towards Europe and the Middle East. 


In 1981 MAKNI Group expanded and founded a new subsidiary company specialized in the field of real-estate through opening the first Shopping Centre “NEW CITY” in Charles de Gaule street, and since then the group kept growing seeking a variety of activities in the industrial, commercial and real-estate fields.
